Proudly representing the East Coast minority, Claire comes to us all the way from her hometown of New Haven, Connecticut. This summer, she joins Oberlin College's legacy at The Connections Group through the highly selective Cole Scholars Program. Yearly, a designated board chooses a select number of applicants believed to demonstrate a passion for electoral politics, and a desire for a future in the field. The three semester program centers around a summer internship to be fulfilled on a campaign anywhere across the country. Claire chose to come to Seattle after her professor recommended she might like working for Cathy Allen's political consulting firm. At The Connections Group, Claire will focus her energy on campaign coordination. Her knowledge and skills will be used for event planning, social and traditional media strategy, constituent correspondence, and assistance at various campaign events. Specifically, Claire will be working with Jessie Israel, a candidate for Seattle City Council hoping to unseat an incumbent. Claire is a rising senior at Oberlin College and has been studying double time to receive a BA in Politics and a BA in Sociology in the Spring of 2010. She has a strong passion for statistical analysis and computational software and hopes to attend graduate school on the East Coast following her graduation so that she can spend more time with her beloved cat Liberty Bell Bogart (and her family too). |
